OK I now have the new Fury 2. 100 sounds, many of which I'll never use here in Alaska. But a bunch that I will use. Plus the capability of adding sounds my friends have recorded and are burning to CD to give me. The only problem is this thing is complicated. Someone needs to give a course in operating the remote. So many buttons, dials, and menus.
I found a small cooler that it just fits in. Cut a 3 1/4" hole in the side of the cooler. The speaker fits up against the hole. I got some low expanding foam, taped all the openings, then covered the unit with plastic. Sprayed the plastic with a release agent (Pam), then set it in place and sprayed the foam along the bottom, and part way up the side. Just enough to cradle the unit, and hold it in place. The caller lies on it's side with the buttons up. Once the foam had cured overnight, I pulled the unit out, man it was tight. Removed all the tape, and cleaned the Pam off the foam. Got a rubber gasket from the hardware store plumbing dept. It's a snug fit between the end of the unit and the side of the cooler. Took it out for a test run this afternoon. With the cooler closed it works just fine at 75 yards. Did not feel like wading through snow to get farther. Now when I take it out, I can drop one of those chemical heat packs down in the cooler to keep the Caller warm, helps the batteries last longer. Since the heat pack don't get hot enough to hurt you, they won't over heat the Caller. Several of my friends have done this for years.
