Got 'em reamed and throated

Got the .454 reamer and 45-70 throater in the mail today from Tim. Finished both today. I had to ream the .45 BC carbine quite a bit. About 1/8". Got it down till the rim cutter just hit the existing rim with the white out on it. Hope it helps out with how this thing shoots 45 Colt anyway....may never shoot .454. I didn't have to throat the 45-70 much at all to get my longest rounds in there. Just scraped it out a small bit and they chamber fine now. Now to test and see what the results are. Thanks to all for the advice on this work and thanks to Tim for the great service he does.

So should I ream the throat of a BC if I'm shooting cast bullets? Reason I ask is, the ogive of my cast 300gr look, to the eye, pretty similar to the 300 gr Speer and Rem bullets Tim has pictured in the FAQs. I was thinking I'd be ok with some modest compression and a suitable OAL.

If you load hot''er'' long colts try the Casull brass... Its better designed for these loads as it uses a small rifle primer pocket!!
