25pdr field gun

Not sure if this would be right for on here .
I have just finished restoring a 25pdr field gun that was used out in the western desert during WW2 , this was discovered when we started to strip of the old paintwork and found desert camoflage.
We have converted it to be able to fire Black Powder rather than proper shells, I think people would get the hump if we tried them !!!! to many windows about that could be broken.
If you are interested then I will post up some pictures and I do have some video of it being fired during the olympics but I would not have a clue how to post that up on here.
We also have some other WW2 stuff like a 75mm anti aircraft gun and a boffers which are both fireable but due to the closeness of buildings we are not allowed to fire them.

Post something about a pre 1899 gun and add in the 25PDR and WWII stuff.

Or show us the restoration techniques use on the gun and tell  us how to apply them to restoring and building the pre 1899 guns.

The board is about cannons that meet the US ATF designation of Antiques, (See board rules for discussion)  If you can relate something about the newer guns to the older gun that by all means do post.

Thanks for the Heads up Double D, it was my fault I should have read the rules!
The diffuculty for me as being from the UK is did not  know that the forum is run to American rules which do differ from UK stuff as the 25pdr would be termed as an antique over here but know I kno I will keep it to cannons etc.

When Tim and I opened the board 10 or so years ago we purposely kept the focus on older guns as there were no other boards with such a focus.  One other board with similar focus had closed when the old Gun and Knife forum closed down.

There were are plenty of forums for the newer artillery and similar devices. We used the ATF guidelines as a cut off for the focus of our discussion on the older stuff to fill a niche.
