What real cops think of gun control
« on: April 08, 2013, 02:09:15 PM »
Obama posed with cops in the background as if they "support" him in his gun control boondoggle. The truth is very few real cops agree. Those officers were ordered to stand there, they had no choice, they were used as window dressing. Here is a survey of 15,000 real cops, active or retired and there is no question as to which side they support.
On the question "what effect will an assault weapons ban have in  reducing crime" 71% said None and 20% said negative
"Will a ban on magazines of more than 10 rounds reduce crime?" 95% said NO
"Do you think a ban on private non-dealer transfer of firearms will reduce crime"? 80% no and 9% unsure.
"Do you support concealed carry for law abiding citizens without further restrictions?"  91%  Yes
There are other questions and details here, it takes a while to load but is worth it.

The story of David & Goliath only demonstrates the superiority of ballistic projectiles over hand weapons, poor old Goliath never had a chance.

I'd say those figures are accurate based on the cops I've known and worked with.

If you looked closely at the faces of those cops who had to stand behind him when he made that speech it was pretty obvious what they were thinking.  At one point when the audience clapped there was only one cop out of the dozen or so in view who clapped along with them.

The only support for gun control among police is voiced by Chiefs of Police and other heads of agencys who are appointed, and serve at the mercy of their liberal mayors or governors, and from police UNION leaders who are in the bag of the democratic party.

The rank and file officers and Sheriffs are almost universally opposed to any more gun control.

I think the rank and file will be divided in the Municipal Dept. I think the gun owners biggest support will come from the County Sheriff and his Deputy's. If we were talking about Policemen from the 80's back, I would agree.
Most of the young ones I see today are more Military acting  (Robots) and like minded and would follow their Chiefs orders. Hope I'm wrong ;) But what I see indicates it. Perhaps not in all areas of the country.
Freedom Of Speech.....Once we lose it, every other freedom will follow.

I supervised both municipal and county officers for 20 years and trained both. In that time I met one new officer that supported gun control. He is now an elected Constable and teaches concealed carry helping private citizens obtain their Texas ccp.

Sadly the "low information " voters will see barrys speech and think all police  "demand" Gun control.  From whats been posted it seems some legislaters are low information as well.  ::)
