I went to my LGS, who is also a reloader, and he gave me 4 black plastic 1# powder containers. I peeled off the stickers, rinsed them out and air dried them for a couple of days.

Chlorine bleach bottles contain an anti-static agent which prevents accumulation of dust during storage. I would be careful with all other plastic.

I would use a clean bleach bottle. Screw on cap and opaque. BTW, my last purchase of 8 lbs. of WC820 came in a bleach bottle.

My first purchase of AA powder was 8 lbs and it was in a milk jug just like the ones at the grocery except for the color of the cap. Brown. Never saw that on a liquid jug. Now with the pints of milk in plastic... how much you want to scrounge? Recycling bins are full of all sizes of plastic milk jugs.
I have used used pint peroxide bottles. The brown plastic, light proof ones. Rinsed and dried, obviously. Peroxide is mainly water. The pint alcohol bottles would work too but not light proof. I have seen alcohol bottles dry and shatter but that was over a decade or two.
Often if you search the larger hardware stores, you can get the empty, dry metal cans like IMR used to use in the paint section. They are used to put up custom batches of colored paint. Nice tight lids. Metal. And if you get the powder to "blow" the seam lets go easily. (Please don't.)

Fist Herco I bought, the local dealer/wholesaler had kegs but could not get 1 pounders so found the paper containers with slip tops like Ice Cream and oatmeal is packed in... white, never used and put the powder in that.
Hodgdon used to sell powder in garbage bags. Some said the plastic was treated to ground static electricity... Bag came in a cardboard box. No good idea where to get that kind of plastic bag but some electrician might. The modern computer electronics are terribly sensitive and might be o.k. with powder... Luck. Happy trails.
