A coalition of left-wing activistsheld a rally and march in DC, Thursday afternoon, to "ride a wave of public anger" and "drag the lobbyists out of the shadows."

From their press release:
 

Riding a wave of public anger at the Senate’s failure to pass even minimal gun control legislation, a coalition of activists, advocates and campaign finance reformers will lead a march on Washington firearms lobbyists this Thursday, April 25 at NOON. The goal is to drag the lobbyists out of the shadows where they prefer to operate and expose exactly how the National Rifle Association subverts democracy.

The event will begin with a news conference in McPherson Square, where gun violence prevention leaders will lay out the web of influence controlled by the NRA and unveil a new anti-NRA artwork by Shepard Fairey, who produced the most memorable image of Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.

The Washington Examiner's Charlie Spiering swung by to watch the protest and march, and take some pictures.
 

Participating organizations include Public Campaign, Occupy the NRA, CREDO, Every Child Matters, Moveon, United For Change, USA, New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, The Other 98%, and We Act Radio.

He says a generous estimation of the crowd size would have been about 100 people, including the members of the media who were there to cover the march.

So few people came to the Anti NRA march that many people joked on how you could find more people in ammo lines across the country.

I swung by the Stop the NRA March this afternoon to watch the protest and march against gun violence. I was late, but caught two of the speeches before the crowd started marching.
Participating organizations include Public Campaign, Occupy the NRA, CREDO, Every Child Matters, Moveon, United For Change, USA, New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, The Other 98%, and We Act Radio.
 
As Buzzfeed’s Evan McMorris-Santoro noted earlier this morning, the event featured the debut of a new anti-NRA poster created by Shepard Fairey – the designer of the famous Obama ‘Hope’ poster.

The number of guns sold in each area of the United states should be something that we could hit the media over the head with. Shouldn't it? If that would work we might even get some decent tv programming along with the results of public openion! It seems that they are selling us something that isn't true.      ear

there are many factors at play in the gun control issue(s)


right now, it looks as though many of the "Knee jerk" action advocates are waking up to the fact that an attack on gun ownership IS an attack of freedom(s)


where they DO have a right to express their opinions, i have a right to ignore them...
