Good morning at the home place
« on: April 28, 2013, 03:12:17 AM »
Got up early this morning, as usual, and looked out the kitchen window into the front yard. I counted 6 gray squirrels eating acorns under my oat tree & 2 pair of cardinals under the bird feeder. I could hear numerous songbirds singing that I could not immediately spot as well.  ;D

Life is good, now for the coffee.  ;)

Nice... how was the coffee?
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Coffee was & still is great. But it's about time for a cup of mocha. I usually drink 2-3 cups of black strong coffee and finish with a cup of mocha with mini marshmallows in it.  :o

You guys can keep your mini marshmallows comments to yourself  ;D

PASTORP. Squirrels everyday here, lots of birds too. I don't like the Lou cardinals bball team so I don't even allow cardinals at my bird feeder. However, I do have a lot of beautiful REDBIRDS. Getting ready for Church with my 2nd cup. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

Got lots of little birds here, they are emptying my bird feeder every other day.  Geese, Swans, and some ducks have arrived, but no Cranes, they are already two weeks late.  I have not seen any squirrels, but Norman has them all over his place down the street.  I keep the .17HMR ready just in the event I see one or two.  Got a few Rabbits, still have Lynx hanging around.  The Min Pen has chased it once.  He saw it first and jerked away, the leash slipped out of my hand, and off he went.  The Lynx ran across the deep snow, with little dog in hot persuit.  Dog only went about five feet then he sunk in three feet of snow.  I had to wade out and rescue him.  Temp only got up to 31 yesterday, it was 18 the last time I looked.  Where is spring?  Not here.

We keep waiting for our good mornings, so you enjoy them down there, we'll think of you as we freeze our XXXXX off.

Looks like I made the right retirement choice......  ;D

It's 70* outside right now. Was about 60 before the sun came up. One of the ladies from Metlakatla sent me a picture this morning. Storm clouds, blowing hard, and rain. Yes I made the right choice.

I would like to be on the Keani river about September for the silver runs. But other than that I'm happy here in the land of sunshine.

I'll pray you don't freeze solid up there Sourdough.  ;D

Likewise. Had a nice if not invigorating 35 mile ride to work this morning. Temperature gauge on the Guzzi said 51 degrees when I pulled in at work. Me like heated grips. :)  It has been a tough spring to ride much so far.

Just got back from town, blowing snow, visibility down to 100ft, temp in the mid 20s.  Where is spring?  Weatherman saying chance of snow all week, maybe rain Friday..

Sounds like my typical morning Pastorp, minus the mocca and mini marshmellows  ;D. The baby squirrels are out of the nest and gather round the chicken feeder in droves. Funny little critters to watch.

You got a mini pin in Alaska Sourdough? That funny :) , mine isn't much on the snow but yeah he'd chase a lynx if we had em :'(  great little dogs.
