New toy on the way for making cannon stuff.
« on: May 04, 2013, 08:41:48 AM »
I just ordered this neat little milling machine. Its on sale for 499.99. I also added a coupon code from the latest issue of playboy magazine  that got me another 20 percent off making it only 399.99
Anyone looking for a little mill check it out. I thought this might be something that people on here would like to know about. Sure its not going to do really tough or big jobs but hey you might have a use for it to.

I have that exact mill, don't know how I got along without it!  :) Good price too! Here's a cannon lock I made on it, much better than a drill press.

I bought mine about 15 years ago from Grizzly. After a few tweeks and accurizing they are good little mills.......................

Yep, I've made scope bases, inleted wood fore arms, drilled and tapped barrels and actions for sights and scopes, firing pins, etc... Great for small jobs. Enjoy!

A comment and question for those who have those mills.
I have used mills in the past and all of them had a drawbar to hold the tooling in place. When I looked at the picture in the link I did not see a drawbar, do they have one and I didn't see it or what?
I sure wish my big drill press (harbor freight #39955) had one.
I may not be completely sane, but at least I don't think I have the power to influence the weather.
