« on: May 07, 2013, 04:41:52 AM »
What is the component weight either individually or collectivley of the lower reciever components ?
I already know the weights for the reciever extension, stocks, etc.
Wanting to know every thing else, trigger, safety, hammer, disconnector etc.

I am puzzled. Since you know the weights of the upper receiver parts why not just weigh your lower receiver assembly? I must be missing something.

Trying to figure out how Much a GWACS Armory  stripped lower is going to weigh after these components are added.

why not select the parts you want in your lower and weigh them?

I think you have too many variables to know what the weight of the lower is.
What stock are you going to use, collapsible, and what one
Fixed stock and standard military, target or adjustable.
Figure this as a base the weights are about
AR15 A1  = 7.5 pound  (20" triangle fore stock, fixed butt stock and standard grip)
AR 15 A1 Carbine = 6.8 pounds (12" narrel with 4" flash hider, collapsible stock)
AR15 A2 rifle = 8.4 pounds (
AR 15 A2 H Bar  = 9 pounds ( same as above with heavier barrel, free floated fore end and target sights)
AR 15 M4 = 7 pounds (16" barrel collapsibel stock no carry handle)
AR frankenstien  = what ever you want it to be  From untra heavy Varmint to skeleton carbine with a short barrel and a huge bird cage flash hider.
Personally I like the heavier rifle mine is an A2 - Rifle.  with the combination of the muzzle break and the weight recoil comes strait back for fast follow up shots.
Not sure what what you want or what the lower really matters the spring kits weight about 2 pounds on shipping so a pound of metal and 1/4 pound of grip.

The GWACS armory stripped lower is a one piece stock with molded with pistol grip and lower integrated, uses an internal buffer tube .it is the same stock that used to be called a Cavalry .
It is only about 27 ounces .
I am putting this together for a Lightweight(7 pounds or less, with 5 rounds of ammo ,scope, sling ,ready to go for hunting)
I like a lighter rifle so the reason for asking about component weight..
I know the weight of everything except the lower components.
I am Probably going to go with a CMMG lower kit.
Thanks
Craig

why would someone come on here and ask another to do his work? He has said he has the lower receiver. I am fairly sure he has selected the parts to fill it.  What they weigh is irrelevant. He will put his selected parts in his lower and it will weigh what it will weigh.
