Jaguar 175# Crossbow; Experience anyone ?
« on: November 10, 2011, 01:50:12 PM »
Hello from the Great State of Georgia,

I see that The Sportsman's Guide is selling a Jaguar 175# recurve crossbow package for 150 bucks. This seems to be a very good price, but I am not sure of the quality and durability. It is advertised as producing speeds of 310f.p.s. with a 16" power stroke. Does this seem right ? Seems a bit far fetched but then again, I am not sure. The reviews all seem to be glowing, but they are published by the folks selling the product. If this kind of speed, accuracy and customer satisfaction are indeed true, why is it not more well known. I am tempted to throw down the buck and a half just to see. Could an Excaliber really be 4 times as good for 4 times the cost ? I have a compound crossbow but have been looking at a few recurves and would be thrilled to get a good one for this price. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and God Bless You All.

My brother just got one and loves it.  I shot it a couple of times and I am probably going to get one.  After a couple years if I get into crossbow hunting then maybe I'll upgrade to a fancier one.
