Changing JP trigger springs
« on: May 10, 2013, 10:13:17 AM »
Got my 3 1/2 lb. JP Spring kit for my AR yesterday. Had watched several you tube vidios and thought l had it down. After getting sear section out l started on the trigger. After getting pin out and wrestling with it for 10 mintues, l realized it won't come out without removing the safety. After finally realizing l had to remove the hand guard to get the safety out everything went great. My 7 lb. trigger is now about 4 lbs. Would have liked a 2lb. Trigger but for 12.00 it will work. i have assembled a complete AR lower from a parts kit.  why do you have to remove your hand guard to remove the thumb safety?

You have to remove the grip, not the hand guard. The spring for the safety slides in a hole in the grip. There is a hole for the pin in lower. You have to remove the spring and pin to slide the safety out. Don

right but you did start off saying you needed to remove the hand guard. That is what had me confused.
