         I hope this man is remembered as a patriot, he certainly didn't do it for his safety.

 Heroes i say. The admin will now go after Edward with all they've got. This is a different country from what we lived in just a few years ago.

I am torn in my judgement of these men;
  In either case, it is good we got the information, but the means of disclosing that info was shady.  I know Manning took an oath not to disclose classified info, but I am not sure of Snowden's status.
   The real difference so far as I see it, is that Manning divulged information which concretely endangers our troops and intelligence personnel in the field.  While as far as we know, Snowden has only described what the NSA does, but no details as to who, where, when and how .

Manning is treasonous, while Snowden is close.  It is a good thing that the public is informed about government abuse, but still...there is that oath !  For Snowden, a "whistle blower" doesn't leave the country..  He instead, goes to a truth friendly news outlet..with his attorney of course..

Yes it is a different country. Snowden confirmed what we all suspected, and his conscience compelled him to tell he "fellow Americans" what their out of control government is doing to them. He will be called by the liberal media, and government, a "Phillip Nolan", but he is more of a "Paul Revere".

  I speak of the understanding a soldier has with his security clearance..  While I took no oath concerning my clearance ,I knew for sure I was NOT to divulge any classified info, obviously that is what a security clearance is for.  The military oath of enlistment covers the loyalty angle.
  Both Snowdon and Manning were faced with hard choices..the biggest mistake (IMO) was when Manning provided some 285,000 seperate documents, many slandering and endangering his fellow soldiers.

  ..But then, who are the administration to complain?  They "leaked" too much classified info on SEAL team six!  THere have been various "leaks" over the years by members of administrations.  Those leakers should by rights, be given the "Manning treatment"..

     That's why you don't contract out sensitive positions, you lose control of the who is working on your information, looks like our leaders are demonstrating a lack of wisdom. Wisdom comes from God, if He has lifted us His blessing from us
we could expect to see this.
