Where you from Andy?   Same conditions here in North Central WI.  Someone said that Boggy packed up the wife and dog and went down south  to Texas to visit Bullet Box!!

I'm father south than you boys and it's freezing rain here right now. Listening to my police radio and there are cars sliding off. Would think this late in the season everyone would know how to drive??
Wife has a bunch of flowers and tomato plants, etc under the grow lights down stairs. We want to get them moved to the little green house out back but it's just to cold at night. If I have to run a heater out there 24/7 might as well leave them under the lights down stairs. At this rate it's going to be a bit before we can get them harded off out there in the green house. Let alone in the ground.

Mark, you will need a pick to get that ground broken up for planting.
Still an awful lot of ice on the St.Croix. Lots of robbins around, but with the snow and ice,I bet they wished they were somewhere else---I sure do.

Supposed to finally hit 50 degrees on the 24th of april. Even the smaller ponds are still frozen over.We have certainly paid for the nice winter we had a year ago.
Lee,did you start little campfires in your bee hives?

Raining here again today guess lasting until tomorrow. I don't mine mother nature trying to replenish the low water table from last summers drought. Don't like though that the rain is on the verge of being snow and may turn to snow after dark. That is not April showers bringing may flowers? The tulips are trying to get out of the ground and mine usually bloom last of April first of May. Going to need a real growth spurt to make the May date now.

snow is on the way agai, long range--no 50s. Hard to sell snares and beaver lure, when there is 3 feet of ice still on northern lakes. This terrible weather has really hurt my supply business.

Well opening of open water fishing season is two weeks away and fisherman here in WI are DRIVING on lakes  ice fishing in more than two feet of ice..... It was 18 degrees this morn here in my home town of Wausau.    Beaver  will have a respite from trapping this year in all the northern states.   Also  no spring rat trapping in Dakotas either....   The spring bvr take will be almost nil or  zero  in the fur auction from northern states

Snowing here again this morning and it's sticking. I know it won't last long but dang it's getting old. Was up to my trailer at the lake yesterday and the ice there just had gone out. There was still quit a bit on the big part of the lake but in front of my property the shore was clear. Sun was out and it didn't feel to bad so I sat on the swing and watched ice chucks go down stream.
Last year I had my dock in already, but that was the earliest I put it out since I've been there and that is 1977. I could get the dock in now with ice out of the way but there is still alot of crap to come down river.

Got rid of most of the snow yesterday--it rained to beat the band.
Snowing tonight and it is bad out. Roads are terrible.

Tom
We just can't seem to get spring moving here can we. Not real nasty today but it's coming from the west again with the cold and wet. The tuplips in the front yard usually bloom this week and the are only a couple inches out of the ground. Rabbits got them mowed back some too don't help. The bush which I can't spell or pronounce is blooming this morning and it should have been done week or two ago. (Forsythia) I cheated and googled it. I should be turkey hunting this morning but just didn't feel up to speed when I woke up. Weather is only supposed to get worse next couple days so I may not go at all. But then I've shot enough turkeys over the years if I miss going this year so be it.
Need to get healed up for FTA.

May 12th Mothers Day. About 48 degrees with a 20 mph cold northwestern wind. Same as yesterday only more rain. We have got from 1.5 to 2 inches since last Thursday.
We had good weather from Monday-Thursday ( few days in the upper 70s with low humidity and breezy) and I got my light soil community garden planted ( about 1/4 acre) with the early stuff. Will go back about the 24th or so and do the later stuff and set plants. With our heavy red clay soils that are cold and wet most seed is in the bag yet. On the lighter soil we have corn in and some of the early planted seeding is coming up. We are about 10% planted for spring when our average is about 30-35% by now.
We also lost from 30-70% of our alfalfa and the winter wheat is about 1/3rd gone as well. Lots of crop plan changes here and good hay is $400 per ton on the high end with $250-$300 for average minus stuff. We will have lots of corn silage for fall feed and that means less corn in the field when trapping starts. Could be out there yet if the cool weather persists. Could be a late harvest this year. Sure don't need an early fall to go with a late spring.

Bryce the  ground is  way to cool  here for much to even be planted.  Some farmers on high ground have planted but  only about 5%.   When i went to Baraboo for Tman Brkfst  the alfalfa there looked good and about 8 inches high. No planting  around there though.   Going to plant some  brussel sprouts which should do good even with the temp being 82 towmorrow and  then twd wkend  cooler again.... the peepers in the ponds dont know what to do.... one day peep next day creep back into the mud....LOL..

When I go into the spell check to correct spelling my post disappears as well. I don't know where stuff goes but something is getting full unless there is frequent trash burning. LOL
