Texas teachers will be packin heat

The governor has a bill on his desk to make it happen. my bet is murdering cowards will avoid Texas elementary schools in the future. Of course they have in the past, but you never know.

I haven't heard anything about this bill on the Governors desk. As far as Harrold School Dist. this happened back in 2008, and was the talk of my part of  Texas when the Harrold School board passed the motion to allow the teachers to carry, and the town supported it. Harrold sits on the south west side of US287 in the middle of no where, and Deputies from the sheriffs office could be a while coming. To my knowledge they are the ONLY school in Texas to ARM themselves.
When did this bill get to Perry? I haven't heard this.

Unfortunately,you need the Amins. approval......out hear they act like Perry is a gun nut.

Most school districts here have their own police force so it doesn't really affect this area. I know the Liberal islands of Houston, Austin, and Dallas do as well so its not directed at them. It is a good deal for rural schools that dont have police guards of their own.
 
I dont know of an incident in Texas that is like Connecticut since Austin and the Texas Tower in the 60's but I like to see the government giving the tools to protect the children if they( the admin.) want to use it!

Out here all the school districts have there own police departments.  I still like Perry's notion of being able to carry anywhere in the State if you have a CCL.  Schools included.

Actually they don't need rick perry, the school board and accomplish the same thing, just like the did in Harrold, Tx. Dallas and Houston is so full of Californians, and New Orleans driggs, that they need a SWAT team in their schools.

Out here the darn School bard is anti gun......we even have a TEA appointed board in one district because of an unrelated scandle.

Oh Houston is a war zone to be sure! The school district police there prolly have a swat team available. and it aint for whacky syco cowards coming on campus bringing AR's. 
 
The bill passed both houses and I assume Perry will sign it. It may only be a show of support for the schools, but it sure is an in your face to barry and the gun grabbers.
