Garnettsville cemetary.
« on: May 27, 2013, 10:02:14 AM »
We visited there today to pay our respects to 2 civil war soldiers, as we do several Xs a year. One was a Southern captain, dead at 19. Near as I have found out he was probably killed in the battle of Atlanta. He signed up in TN for the South. His sister and parents are buried there too.
The other is a Northerner who joined in Lou Ky and lived through the war. He mustered out in Lou and lived there til his death, I believe about a  yr after discharge. We pray that these brave men were treated kindly by God in their death and that they have now found the peace they fought so bravely for.
Garnettsville doesn't exist anymore, but it's where John Hunt Morgan and his men camped before going to Brandenburg to cross the river into Ind. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D
Mr. Charles Glenn “Charlie” Nelson, age 73, of Payneville, KY passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his residence. RIP Charlie, we'll will all miss you. GB
