Gen 1 Extractor Tuning and Parts
« on: June 01, 2013, 04:30:14 PM »
I got a gen 1 extractor that is not extracting very well. Ejectrator is really loose when barrel is open and fails to grab spent case every time. It does work  I just gotta open and close the barrel once or twice to grab the case, but sometimes the extractor falls away from the case and it slips back in chamber. Is there an illustrated parts break down of the gen 1 extactor and is there parts available? Is there any adjustment procedure to "tighten up" the extractor against the case? I have toyed with the adjustment screw, but to no avail. I don't know if it is worn or just need an adjustment.

I have poured through the FAQs. There is an abundance of info on the ejector and gen 2 extractors, but not a schematic or a parts relation picture to show how this generation of extractor was put together. So if someone can post one or point in the right direction that would be awsome. As always thank you for your replies.

Sorry partner, I can't help you on the schematic, but is there room to shim the extractor to prevent it "falling away from the case?"

Check with Brian for sure, but I think just removing the set screw and add a factory leaf spring would solve the problem.
