My goodness, that looks like the bear that was in "The Yearling" with Gregory Peck, Ol slew foot, ha.
Biggest black bear I ever saw was eating trash behind the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado awhile back. He was roly poly fat!

What does it say about a society, when its trash has enough calories to grow fat bears?

I live in bear hunting country. The bait with barrels of surplus "food" that is cheap or free from places like frozen pizza plants, candy companies, etc. The bears are really attracted to it.

Say Mr. Bear, you wanna diet coke with that barrel of pizza and carmel?

A 600# bear is a big bear anywhere. I've never seen a dog even half the heavy.  :o

The guys at work took a pic of one in the parking lot at work Friday.  It was huge.  We have way too many bears........

I just moved to FL and I can tell you the two bears I have seen were huge compared to the one I seen in NC.
One looked like big foot running across the road. I wonder what this 600lb guy is going to look like next year after having to live off berries and bugs now that he has been relocated from his garbage food source.

PS They need to start a bear season like they do gator and draw for tags.....

Relocating Bears does not work.  They find their way back.  Alaska F&G tried that back when we had a Bunny Hugging Governor.  They moved the bears several hundred miles away.  Most found their way back to the area where they had been captured.

Three years ago I was riding my motorcycle from Ft Lauderdale to Tampa.  As I went through the orange orchard, sugar cane, area just north of Lake Okachobe a Black Bear ran out in the road in front of me.  It was close, I almost got the bear.  Would not have done me any good either.  It was not this big but it was a lot bigger than a Big Dog.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
