Synthetic Monte Carlo stock and rubber forearm?
« on: June 25, 2013, 06:24:37 AM »
Does anyone make a Monte Carlo or raised comb synthetic stock for the "original" Contender?  How about a rubber forearm for the Super 16 tapered barrel?

Thanks,

Bob

I'm also having trouble locating which Weaver base fits on the Super 16, tapered barrel.  I know the Weaver 92A fits the bull barrel but I'm not sure if it fits the tapered barrel or not.

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks,

Bob

Yes sir, the 92 fits them all, no matter which Contender barrel you have.  Also the S-16 barrel uses the same forend as the 21" Carbine barrel.  They both have the exact same profile(taper). 8)

Thanks Walt.  Googling on the question brought no answer.

I'm not having much luck finding a synthetic stock with a raised comb that will fit the "original" Contender either.  They're all over the place for the G2 Contender however.  I can always purchase the standard synthetic stock (designed for shooting open sights) and put a Accu-Riser 4000 on it for using a telescopic sight.

I was hoping somebody (aftermarket people) made a synthetic stock designed for using a scope (raised comb).  Back in the day...they must have all used open sights since no one seemed to care about a stock meant for use with a scope.  They don't seem to feel that way about the G2 Contender however (synthetic stocks designed for scope use all over the place).

Take a look at Bell and Carlson SKU#6698.  It is, hands down, my favorite Contender Carbine stock set.  It's a thumbhole, but has a fairly large opening and is just as accessible from the southside as the north.  The comb fits me just right for a scoped barrel.  It is synthetic, but is made of something solid and doesn't have that "hollow" feeling to it.
