Thanks, Tim.

So I take it that H&R hasn't gotten on the bandwagon yet.
Any vibes from someone with inside info?

If past practice means anything and the fact they've discontinued so many offerings in the last few years instead of offering something new, I doubt it will happen, but we can always hope.

I consider myself very lucky to have gotten the .17 HMR barrel to rechamber to .17 Hornet.

My first plan was to buy a .17 HMR rifle and send it in for a .22 mag barrel or sell the left over parts.

The ammo is still a few days out and I hope to have a range report soon...

Thanks, Tony!

I'm torn between doing a re-barrel on my Carl Walther (DST) in 22 Hornet and starting new with a HR.

To be honest I don't know it'll do anything my .22 K-Hornet won't but I had the itch to get a .17 and this was the right one for me...

The Germans came up with an interesting Sub machine-gun round.  It's 4.6x30mm and that rounds out to .18 caliber.  I wouldn't be surprised if we see some Euro bolt guns start showing up in that round.  Supposedly the Russians have a 4.5mm (.17 cal) sub machine-gun but I haven't been able to turn up any info on it...
