:D Hello bearbait
I do not know seems it goes in spurts but since the new forum change
things are a little different But people are catching on.There are a lot of new Forums and some times bear hunting is talked about in
leverguns ,biggame hunting and a few others. It also
may have a little to do with the time of year.
I also notice a lot of new people on graybeards and a lot more
joining every day so it should pickup.I noticed ya do some guiding in maine that sure is a nice state and i would like to visit some day.
The bears that i have seen from there seem to be in really good shape.
I remember talking to a man that came up to fairbanks from maine when i was a young lad and was hunting with my uncle in the 60s he was using a old manlicher rifle in 6.5 and was really a good shot with it he had a bunch of photos with him from his hunts in maine was a real nice guy.

maybe things will pick up soon

Bearbait for crying out loud we are trying to stay warm.  I have to sit on my hands between words to warm them up.  Ha Ha.  Can't remember when we last had such a long spell of cold like this.  Hope those bear are tucked into warm dens.  Hang in there, the first day the temp gets anywhere near 30, folks will be thinking of sitting in a stand waiting for that bear to appear.  Right now sitting outside anywhere is downright scary.

Kathy,
If you folks are want to move the old operation up to Alaska, you'll be warmer. It was 42 above here today, partly sunny, and the 2" of snow we have left was leaving it's solid state for the liquid one! :)

freddogs,
Sorry pard. We'll be hunting in April.  8) (Just had to say that to someone.) It does, however, seem like 9 months!

best,
bhtr

That is downright not fair.  Last Tuesday we had a record of -12 in Portland, Maine.  I checked Barrow, AK, as we have guests who visit from there.  It was only -9 and Ellen tells me that it has been unusually warm there this winter.  Could this been the beginning of an ice age.  Uh Oh
