have a look at these old catalog pics of savage peep sights and the price $6 and $5 the one with the windage on the left would be a good one for the buffalo classic.

the finer the peep the more clear the sights and target.

great for sighting in a hunting rilfe, or punching paper...   just remove them for hunting, or buy a bigger one...

I have some fine ones for the williams et al, and it is amazing, with my eyes, what I can see.

I show the guys at work, but taking a piece of dark tablet backing, and push a fine thumbtack through it.
take a staple, and tape it pointy ends up on the end of a yard stick
cut the peep out rectangular, bend it 90deg and tape it on the other end, then tell them to look through the hole, at the staple, then pick a target.

When you get the hole right, the staple leg AND target are in focus!

I work in an airport tower cab, so we can pick targets some distance way. :D

it is absolutely amazing!

A friend told about that a few years ago with his forefinger and thumb making a small "peep" hole with them and sighting through it. It is amazing, gave me some extra years with iron sights.

I guess the only way they don't work for you is if you have astigmatism.  I took a marksmanship course in college before I knew I needed glasses.  We were using the ROTC's 40-X rifles with peeps.  When I looked downrange thru the peep everything was blurry.  I swore there was something in the peep.  My instructor and my partner thought I was nuts I guess.  I was making good marks but not up to what I was used to.  It was years later that I finally figured it out and got my eyes checked.
