Randall knife
« on: May 25, 2013, 05:30:32 AM »
Greetings all,

After a long wait my new Randall #1 is scheduled for delivery this August. I called the Randall factory and told them I had moved back home and gave them my new address. I can hardly wait.

Regards,

Friend of mine carried one in 'Nam.  Never used it much, but it was definitely a conversation starter.  I seem to recall it came with a better edge than most of the stuff we were carrying.

Congrats on your coming indulgence!
My friend Jon sold his, had it for something like 25yrs.; said that it was fine, but it got too valuable for him to use anymore. I probably should have bought it and just trolled it past him at our shoots and such by slicin' cheese and sausage  ;) .

Congrats on your soon to have Randall.  I had "lust in my heart" for a #1 Randall for many years.  Ended up carrying a Randall #18 for my time in the "sandbox" of SW Asia.  You have an heirloom there for sure. Enjoy

you'll enjoy it for sure.
i've had several. it finally got to
the point that i can't have valuable
items here anymore, so i sold them
so i wouldn't end up with nothing and
my randalls sitting in a pawn shop somewhere.
they're really well built and serviceable.
my #11 was probably the best hunting
knife i've ever owned.
good luck with it.

I've had one almost 30 years.  I use it.  They are super quality and meant to cut.  If you keep it sharp with ceramic sticks, you won't mar the blade.  Some years ago, I dropped it point first on a rock.  Sent it back to Randall (they put repairs ahead of orders) and it came back completely refurbished.  Still using that knife.  It'll do all the hunting chores smaller knives can do, and serve you better for the bigger tasks.
