Taurus PT 709 Slim
« on: April 19, 2013, 02:49:23 PM »
Normally I research my gun purchases to death, but was in the gun shop the other day and saw this little beauty and since I was kinda looking for a semi for CC, I felt is out, felt good and got a good deal on it.  Now that mule is out of the barn so to speak, what is the consensus of the PT709 Slim among my brethren here on the forum?  Be honest.

Have had mine for about a year now...really like it. Probably about 700 cast boolit reloads down the pipe with NO issues. I recently installed a lower front sight (from Taurus) to correct  the shooting low . Problem solved. I also used bike inner tube to build up the palm swell on the grip and get a better trigger position for my finger. Pistol now shoots to point of aim for me.

I frequently carry mine in a Blackhawk ankle rig (when I will be sitting a lot) or in a Kholster IWB for when I'm just "out". Both holsters work well for their intended situations. My son borrowed it this weekend for his wife to try out...hope I get it back !

All in all I am very pleased with my 709 slim.     Bruce H

I have one.
 No issues so far.
No shooting low issue with mine.
There are no magazines for these ANYWHERE.   Taurus doesn't even list magazines for this model on their web sight.   Maybe someday I'll find one.

Have had mine for about 2 years. Great for CC but mine (9mm.) only feeds Remington ammo. All others are FTE. However it eats the Rem ammo reliably so will proly keep it.
