Yes Cuda, that's what I'm doing...improving what I've got and possibly thinning the herd. I've got a Ruger M77 MKII in .308 that is a fantastic rifle....the problem is, I haven't shot it in more than three years. I'm wrapped up in my Handis and have a .308 Handi. I have a Marlin 336T 30-30. That was my first "deer rifle" and I'll never get rid of it. But, I have a Handi .30-30 too. George and Dinny are dinging me to do the .30-40 bit. I like the nostalgia part of it, but there goes your same question....do I really need to load for another caliber?? A lot of rifles I already have and load for fill that same niche. On top of that, there's four long winter months with no shooting, so there's a third of the year gone and when you can shoot, the greenhouse, lawn, garden, and delayed chores set in, limiting time available. I'm retired and still don't have enough time.
