Bought a 905B
« on: February 10, 2014, 02:13:33 PM »
Bought a new 905B 9mm, wanted a small revolver again.  Have an S&W 36 that I carried years ago off duty, but when my son followed me into law enforcement gave it to him.  Even though he carries semi autos, likes to have the little Smith for some things.  Anyway I already have a couple of 9mm semis and plenty of ammo, so thought I'd like the 905 with its' full moon clips.  Makes for easy loading and 4 loaded clips fit just nicely in a pill bottle.  Found out finding spare clips is a problem, comes with 5, but would like extras.  Found that different brands of 9mm shells have different diameters on the indent above the rim.  Some do not work well in the clips, fall out to easily.  Most hold well in the clips.  Have dropped them purposely on the carpeted floor and the most that ever fell out is one.  Think this is going to make a nice CC revolver for me.  Now if the temperature ever gets above freezing I'll actually go out and shoot it.   Suppose to get 20 below tonight.  When I do shoot it will give a report, but almost 40 days since we were above freezing.

I also have a 905. Look at T K Customs for moonclips. Better quality. The trigger pull out of box was 14 lbs., shoot DAO so I had a trigger job done to lighten. Hope you enjoy.

Got up to 4 above and only about a foot of snow, couldn't take it anymore.  Took the little 9mm out with 5 loaded clips and ran 25 rounds through the revolver all double action.   Kept them on the paper at 15 yards, shot high.  This wasn't a fair trial as shot as fast as I could as it was a toss up which froze up first the revolver or me.  Will do again if it ever warms up, this time slower and single action too.
