barrel program

I just want to be sure I understand this right, if I send my receiver to H&R they can fit a different caliber barrel to it an d then I can switch back and forth from barrel to barrel? Thanks.

You've got it correct.  Both new and old barrels should fit and interchange.  I see you're new here.  Welcome.  Stick around and don't be afraid to ask questions.  There's a lot of help here.

Again check the FAQ's sticky.

Yes they will if it is a newer handi, the second letter of the serial # will tell you what can be fitted.  Check the Faq sticky.

Well, I can still carry it one handed, but PHEW stairs are tough!  lol  ;)  Has a muzzy forend and a .45 Cal MZ also included now and a .30-06 Bull that isn't there yet.  hehe

You'd have to buy a 30-30 barrel and have it rechambered by George (Jeepmann1948) to get a 30-40 barrel, there was a sticky on it, but it was lost when the server hard drive crashed, hopefully it will be restored in the next week or so.

Thanks Tim, that's exactly right.  You could also rent the reamer and do the ejector/extractor mod yourself.  With the wonderful work Jeepman did on mine and others for the relatively small donation to this site, I can only recommend that you allow him the opportunity to do yours.  Was well worth $ not to worry about messing something up myself.  ;)
