3/4 OZ 12 ga data loads
« on: January 23, 2013, 06:43:05 AM »
Does any body have the reloading data for the new claybuster 3/4 oz 12 ga loads using
CB0175-12S wads? The thing I would like about 12 ga 3/4 oz loads is the cost of 28 ga hulls cost 25 cents and I can pull up 12 hulls are free at my gun range.Thank for any help, Twyman

Interesting you came up with the same conclusion that I arrived at several months ago when 3/4 ounce wads became avail in both 12 and 20 ga.  I have been a .410 shooter for 30 years.  Never could find deals on hulls or even enough of them.  I started at 3/4 and have now moved Down to 5/8 oz in both 12 and 20. I drop one Cheerio iin wad before I drop the shot to get good crimp.

I am in the process of selling off all my .410's except one that is extremely light at 3 1/4 pounds.  I shoot informal clay birds just about every day at my club and the 5/8 really hammers them due to excellent patterns.  I even use that load in a HD 12 with cylinder bore.  It has been my experience that green dot will tighten up the pattern a little for an open choke. My best loads have obviously been with red dot. Alliant
even has a suggested load for 3/4 oz in 20 using red dot which generally is not recommended for 20.  Have fun............less is sometimes more.

That Claybuster data left off Green Dot which I got specifically for light loads.  Anyone have any Green Dot data>

Done a lot of 3/4's in 12 and 20 over the last year.
Green Dot is for 20's
Red Dot is for 12's.
Red Dot burns dirty in my 12; they say the pressure to too low to burn completely.
Lot of talk on Shotgun World about 3/4 oz loads; apparently Extralite burns the cleanest for 12 ga 3/4 oz loads, but I haven't tried it.

Also, a copy of the load sheet necchi linked is in each bag of wads from CB.
The difference between people who do stuff and people who don't do stuff is that the people who do stuff do stuff.

Thats why I was told to use Green Dot for reduced loads.
