My "jpshaw" custom stocked 20
« on: February 18, 2014, 09:15:21 AM »
Well after a while of begging, groveling, etc. I convinced John to take on a project for me. His straight English stock set. I supplied the set and let the artist do his part. My lighting is not great this evening but here it is. I highly recommend his work, not for sure if he will take more on. Thanks John!

Lots of added touches like fitting the butt plate to the stock. Rounding out the schnabel forend. Even sent me instructions on how to care and mend the product.
I placed it on my favorite pardner a youth 22" modified shotgun. I had to trade my 20 tamer to my 12 yr old to get this gun. Lol.

Well Stew we now have almost identical youth 22 inch 20 gauges.  Only your wood is prettier.  I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.  Thanks for all the testimony but it was just a lot of hours with a 1/3 sheet power sander.

Some pretty wood and nice work, I especially like the rounded off Schnabel forend.

Except for different grain in the wood here is my personal 20 gauge youth (with adult length stock) and a twin to yours.

JP, I have a case colored receiver as a spare here but if you notice the above one I used is a factory blued receiver.

I quess I wasn't looking that close at the receiver.  Just assumed it was a case colored one since it had a shotgun barrel on it.
