Yay me!
« on: February 10, 2014, 12:41:46 PM »
Picked up a microgroove youth sportster for $170 tonight.  Now the fun begins... WGRS, cut/thread, move front sight, thumb screw for forend, and range time with a mute button.  I just hope the front sight clears the can.  If not I will just have to replan the plan.

What kind of suppressor are you putting on it? I like the Gemtech myself, but have been dying to try out one of the oil filter adaptors, my SOT buddy says its a stich, but just been to cold to go out and play with it yet...... There is a company on ebay (cant remember name) but they thread barrels for around 100.00 to just about any TPI you can want. they will also move the rear sight and provide a thread protector for it. I;ve been wondering about suppressing a handi rifle and am interested in seeing what type of reduction you get...Ironically I was just looking at the 12 ga suppressors....

ETS Templar.  The company is no longer, but it is a Ti tube ans SS monobaffle.  It comes apart for cleaning too.  I would probably go with a Kodiak or Warlock if I had to buy another rimfire can though.  I will be adding a 30 cal to the collection next year political climate permitting.

I decided to go with the FPTK sight and Choate's Store-All forearm.  I used a Midway code and got 2 sustainment pouches for my ruck for $2.  Now I'll have to wait for the weather to get better to get a baseline accuracy test before I have the barrel work done.

None yet.  My .223 is a hb and already muzzle heavy at 18" so I probably will leave it alone.  If I end up with a 9mm can I will cut the .357 down to 16.5 and thread and work up some wadcutter subsonic loads for small game and plinking.  I think it would be fun.  The Sportster will be a small game, plinking, pack gun (broken down).
