The 499HE is just a novelty just like the 500S&W was for me, wanted to do something different with it for fun, it's too heavy to hunt with, I like my Superlights for serious work.  ;)

After being on hiatus from the forum for a couple of years, I come back and see the .499 Hubel.  Part of me says I need to do this, but the rational part says my BC chunking 405 grainers at 2100 hurts more than enough!!

Thanks for the welcome back!  I may have to get on the list for a reamer and take the 45-70 up a notch or two before I get all crazy and step into the world of the 50!
