Question on Beretta Stampede?
« on: February 26, 2004, 09:52:06 AM »
I found some metal "flakes" peeling out on the inside of the frame where the barrol has been pressed into the frame. I used my knife tip to peel out these shavings and I got 2 small thin pieces out. Could this be a problem? Anyone else ever see this on these types of guns? These shavings were right against the barrol and came out frome right against the barrol in a curved shape if you know what I mean. Thanks!

THe barrel is screwed into the frame, it's either from the threading or screwing in process, or if it's on the outside barrel junction, it remotely could be shimstock to align the barrel's front sight straight up. (doubtful).  Most likely shavings from the threads.  If the barrel is tight, and stays tight after shooting, don't worry about it.

I am not sure what you mean. Was this before or after shooting the gun? If it was after shooting the gun, was it lead build up from the bullets?

It was before shooting the gun. I think Flint nailed it on the head as this did look like thread shavings from the manufacturing process ans were shaped just like it too.
