« on: January 19, 2013, 02:27:50 PM »
I have been looking for a CZ452 American, but can't find one. So I wonder what the thoughts are about the Savage Mark II G?
Any comments?
Thanks

Not even in the same league. Do yourself a BIG favor and wait to find a 452.

They still make 452 in LH, but RH is 455 for the last couple of years so new RH 452s are probably all sold.
The last gun I will sell or give away will be my 452 (LH).
Have the Savage 93GL which is the same as the mark ii except magnum. Very accurate and a great value.
I like the accutrigger.

I have seen one but it is a 16" threaded barrel. I have a Savage Mark II now and am doing ok in smallbore silhouette, but mine has a bull barrel so can only use it in one class. I like my Savage, but am told the CZ is what I need. I like the Savage Mark II G, because it has a Monte Carlo stock. Does any one know how the new CZ455 .22 compares in accuracy with the CZ452 American?

Mtnchick.
Not putting Graybeard down but I would try rimfirecentral for your question on accuracy etc.

Both the 452 and 455 American shoot sub .5" 5 shots at 50 with ammo they like. The 455 is no better or worse than the 452. You just have the option to switch barrels if you like. If you wanted to shoot in a heavy barrel class you would want the varmint. Then buy an american barrel for the standard classes. Plenty of reports of barely under 1/4" groups at 50, so mine isn't unique.
