Curved butt plate and Limbsaver pads
« on: February 20, 2014, 09:36:54 AM »
I have shotgun with a curved butt plate and wanted to add a Limbsaver pad.  Which is easier flattening the stock or curving the pad. It is an odd ball shotgun and they don't have a direct fit so I am grinding the pad.  I can do either just looking for opinions.

I had an O/U with a curved butt plate and I decided to go with cutting the stock.

My reasoning was I would then have the option of various combinations of pads and spacers to fine tune the length of pull and the pitch (with tapered spacers).  As it turned out it came out just right and I never did have to use any spacers.
