Never shot a deer with any, I wasn't too impressed with their accuracy. I tried 'em out of three different 30/30's and the best group I got was 3.5" and the worst was a lil over 5". I did shoot some into some wet newspaper and magazines and found reliable expansion with good weight retention. I wound up giving them to a coworker who does a considerable amount of hog hunting. He shot a meat hog at fairly close range and said that they performed really well. He was shooting an open sighted model '94. Depending on how your gun likes 'em, might be worth trying.
