delays at NEF

i talked to dan (?) today at NEF about my order for the 30-06 barrel i placed back in january.  they lost one of their three gunsmiths, he had a heart attack so they are down to two guys. he said they were recently running twelve weeks in delivering barrels, but now he thinks it should be around 8 weeks. he sounded like an OK guy, not terse like their email answers.

How horrible.  Did they say if the employee was OK?

speckle -

he didn't give any real details, although he did say the guy made it through the heart attack. hopefully, the guy will recover and feel good enough to get back to fitting barrels for us !

6 weeks turnaround for me!

I just got off the phone from H&R and they said my package shipped yesterday, so they had it in their hands for 1 day shy of 6 weeks.  That was for 3 bbls, a 243, 308, and 20 ga ultra rifled.

The lady estimated up to 4 business days for shipping.

i hate seeing these posts
i got mine up there having a 243 barrel put on it.
btw student i think you got my .243 barrel!!!
i think with all the problems those guys are having that every one on here should call and cancel their orders for new barrels, that way i could get mine done and back to me faster.

how long has your handi been there for ? they received mine on january 28th. i ordered a 30-06 barrel for cast bullets and a 410 barrel for ventilating quail, i leave for a wingshoot in FL on march 28th, i 'd hate to have to use a 20 gauge.

They received mine on 1/26. They had told me a couple of weeks ago that the Huntsman barrel had been the hold up but they had received some the week before. I called yesterday morning and they told me that they had run out of Huntsman's again and I was on the list to be one of the first for the next batch................

I told them to cancel the Huntsman order and if they did not have the 223 bull or the 45/70. To cancel them too and send my gun back.

Today they called me and miraculously all of my barrels have been fitted my 270 has been repaired and it was ready to ship..... We'll see.
