Opinions on Remington .308 165gn PSPCL?
« on: January 28, 2003, 03:25:33 PM »
I am considering this bullet for use in my .300 Savage.  Just looking for opinions on how well it will perform on deer at woods ranges.  Does it hold together and perform as well as the Hornady 165gn Interlock?

Thanks,
-Matt

Dutch:

I bought 500 of them to shoot in my .300 Savage pushed by 4064.  I suspect it will hold together.  I have been using the 165 Hornaday and Nosler P. in the .300 Sav.  both very accurate.  Both leave a nice exit hole.

I have used them in my single shot 30-30, at 2250fps, 308 at 2800fps and my 30-30 14" contender at 2100fps.  Everything has dropped within 10 or 15 yards of where it was shot.  You can get a great deal on them at Midway and sometimes they go on sale and then you can really get a deal.  It sure beats paying $16 to $17 per 100 for any of the other brands.

You can only hit the target if the barrel is pointed in the right direction when the bullet leaves the barrel.

That is a good bullet . I prefer the 150's myself but that's just me.In SXS comparison I don't see any wound difference in the 150 clpsp & the 150 Nosler Ballistic Tip.

Thanks for the opinions.  I think I'll try some in my Savage 99.  Sure can't beat the price, especially in bulk!

Just checking out those 150gr rem core-lokts at Midway and practically all the remington bullets are indefinite backorder. Wonder if Remington is having problems again?  :?
