REIMAGE SCAN.

It keeps popping up on my puter telling me I need to scan for this or that. I looked it up and it appears to be a real deal, but  I don't remember ever signing up for it. Any ideas?? CHARLIE.

I'm ignorant about that stuff.
If something happens to my computer, I hand it to my wife and say, fix it, and she does.

Best guess is you have picked up something nasty on one of those sites you visit for links. I personally would NOT click on anything in such a message I got. As long as you have a decent antivirus software it should deal with most stuff but I'm always leery if something unexpected pops up wanting me to do something.

Successful removal of browser hijacks can be done, but usually with a lot of steps, here's a tutorial that may be what you need to remove it. Best defense against these is good security software installed on your device and running scans regularly, without them, you're a sittin duck on the internet.

Thanks guys, I have Avast and run a scan every couple of days. Only way I got rid of it last night was to shut the puter dwn and start over. I'll run another right now. Avast should catch it shouldn't it.  CHARLIE.

Scan says I am clean but wants to sell me stuff. CHARLIE.
