Thanks!

I got my Buffalo Classic in 2010 to compete in our club's buffalo match, which at the time was 20 shots on hind legs at a buffalo profile at 300 yards.  It was my first center fire rifle that I both reloaded and cast bullets for.  With inexpensive Williams sights, it was competitive with Sharps, high walls, trapdoors of the other shooters, winning my share of matches.  As the years rolled on, it would open up after firing, but not often - I thought it was due to fouling, so I'd clean it up and carry on.  Fast forward to my last match.  After the 4th shot, it opened up each and every time I shot!  Disconcerting to say the least.  I started searching for info on the subject - most searches led to GBO.  First non-destructive solution to try was the stiffer latch spring from McMaster-Carr.  Following the great info in the FAQ here, I sized and fitted the spring, made a slave pin for the trigger, managed to get trigger and guard re-assembled, and verified that everything worked as it should.  Last week I fired 30 rounds without the rifle opening up!  Thank you Tim and all the folks here who are willing to contribute their expertise, you helped a rank amateur!

The BC is one of the prettiest H&R's ever.
"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves."
