dan wesson 32 mag revolver
« on: February 07, 2011, 01:13:31 PM »
I am wondering if my Dan Wesson 32 mag. has any sales value. I kinda need some cash for a project. It shoots well and is a neat revolver but i might have to part with it. It has both a 6 and 4 inch blr stainless steel and there is an extra 4 inch blr made from a springfield 03 blr. buddy of mine made the blr when he had a 32-20 D.W. he let me have it. Hoping i don't need to sell it but was wondering its value if i need to. Joe Gifford aka argie1891

Around 450$ or so, perhaps more if you find the right person, quite a bit less from a dealer most likely.

i didnt think they made many in 32 mag. i do know that dealers have to make a profit and they have more traffic to sell their items.. i bet taking credit cards helps a bit to. hope i can work it out without selling it as it is a real nice shooter. i havent used the 4 inch blr much but with the 6 inch it shoots better than i can hold. thanks for your reply joe gifford aka argie1891

No, they didn't make that many in 32 but then the caliber isn't terribly popular either. I like dan wessons but I prefer the more common 357's to a 32 mag. Best dollar would likely come if you listed it some place like gunbroker where it might attract the eye of some of the relatively few DW collectors. With luck they might fight over it and you might get good money for it depending how much they wanted it. You never can tell what collectors will be willing to pay for anything if they happen to really want it. Otherwise to a dealer or a lot of individuals the uncommon caliber makes it a little less desirable than the more common 357 though the extra barrel does help.

i hate to put it on the auction as shipping a handgun is a hassle. as far as the 32 mag you are correct not popular but it should be. i own 5 of them. a ruger bisley, smith and wesson snubbie, a shotgun i converted to 32 mag, and a russian nagant that i took the 32 acp cyl and reamed it to 32 mag. and the dan wesson. i love a handgun with low recoil low noise. easy to load for and just fun to shoot.. now i know i am in the minority and not many seem to feel the way i do but i sure have had a hell of a lot of fun with the 32 mag. joe gifford

where are you located ? I might be interested in it if you decide to sell it , and it is worth more if you can do a FTF. the hassle and extra cost to ship and go through a FFL just kills a lot of deals. it usually adds another $50 or more to buying one. the DWA 32 mag is one I don't have in my collection and I haven't seen any for sale locally for quite a while.

there were not really any problems converting the extra cylinder to 32 mag. while not the most accurate revolver on the planet it does shoot well enough for plinking and even self defence. some people shoot 32 long in the nagant cylinder i wont as the case is undersized you can make nagant brass from 32 -20 but it is short. the cylinder i converted to 32 mag is the after market cylinder for the 32 acp. it makes a neat shooter out of the ruskie revolver. joe gifford.

Your gun is in the $700 range and beyond, depending on the bidders. There is a Dan Wesson forum that will give you a better idea.

Here is an auction for just a blue barrel and shroud that sold for $210

I bought a S/S one about 5 years ago for $450 with a 4" & 6".  I have since added a new 2.5" barrel and a used 8" barrel.  The 8" is blued and the shroud profiles are different, so it is NOT a pistol pack.  I had mine reamed to 327 Fed.
I tell my wife that it is worth $750 if I die.
