We don't Covet our neighbours goods. We only complement them on how well they have done. Our old friend just bought a new Audi, she was so proud. We were only so proud for her. It was a nice car. I couldn't fit into
it very well, I had to climb into it lol. But she's little so it fit her just fine so I didn't say anything.
It was a little chick car, my wife liked it but she's little also.

  I sure never coveted such things, even before I was saved.  Generally, I felt pleased for the person.  I am not a big materialist kind of guy anyway.

  I truly consider it comical when I see people, especially neighbors competing that way.
  One wag put it this way, while describing such a situation, he said;

  "We spend money we don't have, to buy things we don't need, ..to impress people we really don't care about anyway "

Its only those who not happy with themselves the covet. Me? I have the cars and trucks I want. A Ferrari is a wonderful machine but my challenger is plenty fun for me. I worked hard to get what I have and could care less if someone else doesn't like it or is envious. Drive up to my house in a Ferrari or porche and I will be the first to tell you you have a beautiful car. Sure wouldn't make me envious of you though. Same with homes. Mines nothing fancy but its plenty good for me. I don't need a 6 bedroom 6 bath house for the wife and me. If it tickles your fancy then have at it.

Years ago, before we got fire ants, and before the farmers got big chemical spray rigs, we had bobwhite  quail.  I mean lots of bobwhite quail.
A huntin buddy of mine had the very best pointer I've ever seen named "Squaw".

I UNASHAMEDLY COVETED THAT BIRD DOG.

I eventually owned that dog in her later years. He gave her to me when he quit huntin.

My youngest son has a red dot sight system on his ar I covet. If I asked him for it he'd give it to me.
But I won't.

If you like it so we’ll just buy one like it and you will both be happy.

I’ve been changing over a lot of my hunting rifles to Dot sights too. Still have a coupled scoped and a couple with iron sights but most have dot sights now. My favorite are the ones that have red and green dot options.

Green shows up better in varying conditions.  Certainly shows up brighter against a sunlit background.  Are those some of the reasons, Pastorp ?

I'm happy with the red dots I've got, but if I were gonna get a new one it would be the ne bushnell tsr-26.
