Never Trump, Orange Man Bad, gimmedat free stuff are the reasons Democrats will vote for Biden regardless of his infirmities and contradictions.

This Founding Father warned of the rise of those that vote for free stuff from Public funds.

Quote from: Thomas Jefferson
I think myself that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious. Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have...The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases.

...and...

To take from one, because it is thought that his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, — the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry, & the fruits acquired by it.

Trump ought to walk on stage and his first question to biden should be explain your sons and your involvement in the Ukraine. If he hims and haws or changes the subject just turn around and walk off the stage.

From the Thomas Jefferson Encyclopedia:

"Neither this quotation nor any of its variant forms has been found in the writings of Thomas Jefferson.  Its first known appearance in print was in 1952, although it is most likely older.  It appeared frequently in newspapers in the 1950s (usually unattributed), and was even used in political cartoons.  It was copyrighted in 1957 by the General Features Corporation, as part of a syndicated newspaper feature called "Today's Chuckle." I rechecked my resources NWBear.

Part of the first and all of the 2nd are attributed to Jefferson. Why the "encyclopedia" doesn't concur is an unknown.

1.)  https://founders.archives.gov/documents/Jefferson/98-01-02-4523

2.)  http://tjrs.monticello.org/letter/201

I only checked the first quote, so I am available to be wrong.  I don't disagree that those were his sentiments just not the actual words.  Of course a lot of things can be different when you have a LOT less people and everyone can strike out on their own if they want to.  Much tougher with our population density.  Also without artificial enhancement (man made nitrates) we would not have enough food for the current population - the capacity would have peaked at about 6 billion if I recall, then natural starvation would have kicked in.  Of course without man made nitrate WWI (and WWII) would have ended much sooner also.

Sorry I will check closer next time.

I don't mind being called on it.  I sometimes just send along what comes along (not in this case though) and in those times am "guilty" of not fact checking.  It is good to have someone watching.  It's me sometimes.  It was "your turn".
