yep set  net traps for snappers so they can come up to breathe and you can sort them and keep those in slot limit.   Also use jugs and hook and line..... Also noodle them by looking for them in brushy banks....have very good luck in bvr den holes or in entrances to bvr lodges.

ok let us git this straight? yu noodle snappers? the werd that comes to mind is INSANE! or maybe yu have no fingers left to lose? jus kiddin!! ive done it too, if yu can feel the tail or those sharp ridges at the bak of the shell yu are ok, if not, aaggghhhhh!!

Yeppers Hillbill your right on...... first time i did it i  was leary as hell but you develope a  feel VERY FAST as to what is what lol.... those buggers really can hang on in those roots.  I keep a gunny sack on my belt and if snappers are in slot limit into bag they go right away.... Tasty morsals they are.

SNAPPER RECIPE!
get them all dressed up nice
take em out for a nice meal
ply them with wine
keep em warm with hugs
lotsa compliments
 
SHOULD BE DONE IN ABOUT 70 YEARS ... with luck

brokenwing, In nj you can only use pots. hooks are illegal. You can get license pretty easy.
