Goya foods, selects Ocasio~Cortez.

Goya Foods names Ocasio~Cortez as 'employee of the month' !  This was awarded to her, after her calls for a boycott of Goya foods, raised their retail sales by 1,000% !

It's good stuff, as good as any other. Thier canned tamalies are better than anyone else's. Like Hormel, wrapped in wax paper instead of corn husk.  Like it's supposed to be.

I grew up in Mass in an area with a large population of Puerto Ricans. There was an entire aisle in our local grocery store with nothing but Goya products. I laughed when AOC called for the boycott knowing that there was no way Puerto Ricans were going to give up Goya for her.

I have never eaten a canned tamale in my life. I have never eaten one that wasn’t wrapped in a corn shuck either. I like tamales but avoid those in cafes or from grocery stores. If we buy tamales that aren’t made by someone we know we go tp Allsup’s. They have regular and green Chile tamales and they are good. They also have the best hot links going.

I’m going to look into Goya and see what they have. If AOC don’t like them that’s a big plus for them in my book.

Supermarkets here, usually have about 5 or 6 feet of shelf space for Hispanic foods.

  Yes; I think the Goya in supermarkets in our area, are more for we "Anglos" who want to try the stuff, or just prefer Goya brand.
    There is a Walmart west of me that has a bit more..but there are Hispanics working on a tree farm (not Christmas trees) there.
   East of me by about 35 miles, there are large dairy farms (2,000 to 5,000 cows) that hire some, so I expect that there are larger varieties in stores in the area.

   We have several such large dairy farms nearby here, but for some reason, they all hire local help!

They didn't go along with them. Any of them. Hispanic food here is almost a staple. And it's good if done right.
Tacos are in competition with Pizza. I choose the tacos.

There's like 2 so-called pizza places in
the whole area, and a taqueria within
sight of several others all over the area.
Unless about 3/4's of them launder
money, I can't imagine how so many

I'll look for some of their products my on my next shopping trip.  If they have anything that fits in with what I like, I'll give it a try...  I'd hate to see Ahole AOC loose her employee of the month title.  :)
