Chuck Schumer says Donald Trump incited an ERECTION instead of the insurrection sending social media users laughing that 'we're in for a long, hard trial next week'
The Senate Majority Leader made the hilarious gaffe while announcing that the House's article of impeachment will be sent to the Senate on Monday
Schumer wanted to impress on lawmakers that the former president was responsible for inciting the MAGA mob that stormed the US Capitol on January 6
But he stumbled over his words muddling 'insurrection' for 'erection'
'When that trial ends senators will have to decide if they believe Donald John - Donald John Trump incited the erection - insurrection - against the US,' he said
Schumer quickly corrected himself and appeared to pull a bashful face before he and his fellow lawmakers pretended nothing had happened
Amused viewers quickly took to social media to poke fun at the mistake
'We're in for a long, hard trial next week,' one person joked
'It was an uprising either way...' another person laughed
The embarrassing moment comes less than two weeks after Schumer was heckled by a woman who told him she was 'sexually excited' watching the riot
