Thermometers.

You can't hardly find one now. I'd rather have an old type analog gauge. they seem to be more accurate.

Barely bump a analog thermometer and it changes 10 degrees one way or another. I just look at my smartphone.

Not the two I have, bump em they may jiggle a bit but come right back to where they were. It's a calibrated spring in them that expans or shrinks. Break one open and see for yourself. You must be slapping the crap out of it lol

What if your phone isn't working for lack of a signal?

When I built my house 36 years ago I put a mercury thermometer on the inner part of the window in the kitchen. It has a small tube with a bulb on the end that runs outside. Its as accurate as the day I got it. I also have one of the digital ones with the sensor outside, but I don't believe its as accurate as the mercury one.

I agree with that, our digital isn't as correct as our mercury one is. Sometimes by about 10 degrees.
To me, especially during this cold. A good thermometer is as important as a good clock.
Even in the summer.

If my phone doesn't work I for one don't really see the need for a thermometer. It's either hot or cold so what? I do have an old mercury one on the shed that I have had for years. I don't see the need to have thermometers stuck every where just to look at them. A clock serves my purpose more.

I also find value in a thermometer.  As soon as I get up, I look at it to see what the temperature is. It kind of tells me how to dress when I leave the house.

I guess to each his own. We have four seasons where I live, with lots of temperature swings.  It does not bother me that you don't have a thermometer. I was just stating my want and use for one.
