2. At the Washington Supreme Court, we’re challenging the infamous I-1639 that labels most semi-autos as “assault rifles.”
After Biden and Kamala threatened to issue executive orders if Congress doesn’t pass their gun control bill, the need to win a 2A battle at the Supreme Court has NEVER been more dire.

In Caniglia v. Strom, a Supreme Court case in which we filed an amicus brief, both the Second and Fourth Amendments are at stake.
In a 1973 Supreme Court case Cady v. Dombrowski, the police arranged for a car to be towed from a public street, after the driver was found comatose. Since the driver was an off-duty police officer required to have his handgun with him -- and the handgun was not found with him in the car -- the police searched for it in the trunk to prevent it from being stolen.
However, in the trunk the police also found evidence of a crime committed by the comatose police officer. The Supreme Court upheld the warrantless search of the trunk and seizure of the evidence in it.
This upcoming Supreme Court battle will decide whether the police can extend the Cady case to justify a warrantless search of a HOME for guns, as well as a seizure of guns, ammunition, and magazines during a “wellness check” of the residents.
The Supreme Court has granted a writ of certiorari in this case, which will be argued in March, and decided most likely in June.
With the Fourth Amendment also at stake in this case, Gun Owners of America is committed to upholding every single one of your rights outlined in the Bill of Rights.
But we know that the Second Amendment stands as the teeth of the Constitution. When the Second Amendment goes, so too do all of our liberties.
That’s why we are committed to upholding the Second Amendment wherever and whenever it is under threat -- including in Washington state, where we are working to protect the Second Amendment rights of U.S. citizens living behind enemy lines as Antifa continues to terrorize the city of Seattle.
I-1639 is a gun control nightmare that has imposed background checks, training requirements, age limitations, and waiting periods to purchase commonly-owned firearms.
These infringements have done nothing to make the people of Washington safer.
Instead, all they’ve done is create unnecessary obstacles and burdens for decent and honest Americans to purchase a firearm to keep themselves and their families safe.
In our superior court challenge, the judge ruled in agreement with us that the law was enacted in an unconstitutional fashion, yet stated that there’s nothing he could do about that, and let the law stand.
So now we are appealing to the Washington Supreme Court to keep fighting for the God-given rights of every U.S. citizen.
But to defeat the anti-gunners and their army of bloodthirsty lawyers from the swamp, we’re going to need YOUR sustained support.
