Intelligence points at Iran likely targeting Israel this year using proxies in Syria and Lebanon

EXCLUSIVE: The Israeli military is updating plans to strike Iranian nuclear sites and is prepared to act independently, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz told Fox News.

Israel has identified numerous targets inside Iran that would hurt its ability to develop a nuclear bomb.

"If the world stops them before, it's very much good. But if not, we must stand independently and we must defend ourselves by ourselves," Gantz said in his first sit-down interview with an American outlet.


Amid increasing regional tension over Iranian proxy action and violations of the 2015 nuclear deal, intelligence assessments state that Iran will likely target Israel using proxies in Syria and Lebanon during 2021.

Gantz said the Iranian-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has hundreds of thousands of rockets. A classified map of targets shared with Fox News shows many of the rockets among civilian areas along the Israeli border.

"This is a target map. Each one of them has been checked legally, operationally, intelligence-wise and we are ready to fight," Gantz added.

In a Fox News interview, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz shares a classified map of locations of missiles controlled by the Iranian-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. 

The annual Israel Defense Forces intelligence briefing indicated that Israel is preparing for several days of fighting with Hezbollah. Local media reports said 3,000 Lebanese targets would be hit every day during the next conflict, with an aim to kill 300 Hezbollah fighters every 24 hours.


Israel is expected to continue striking Iranian-backed groups in Syria that Gantz said help to facilitate weapons transfers to Lebanon.

Since the start of 2020, Israel hit more than 500 Iranian-linked sites in Syria with airstrikes, according to the Israeli Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi.

Last week, U.S. President Biden ordered an additional airstrike in Syria after numerous rocket attacks against American interests in Iraq.


While the Biden administration has signaled a willingness to return to the Iran nuclear deal, Israeli officials from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Gantz believe the issue of Iranian proxies must be addressed in any future agreement.

"The American policy should be American policy, and Israeli policy should stay Israeli policy," Gantz said.

  The world didn't heed "Mein Kampf", the WW2 Japanese threat, or  Saddam Hussein's promise to take the Kuwait oil fields, either.

  To quote from Joe.."Come on Man'..      I didn't make any comment, but only referred to scripture.   

  That being said, I don't see the OT as completely fulfilled.  The OT is an introduction to the the NT, or New covenant.  The OT served as a lesson, showing us that we as humans, cannot totally keep the law.

  That doesn't mean the law is of no importance.  Yes, some parts of the law were updated (Acts 10:10-15), but generally the law such as in the 10 commandments, still holds.
  If OT prophesy were inaccurate, how could it so closely describe Jesus' suffering on the cross. (Isaiah 52 & 53), which incidentally, most contemporary Jews have trouble dealing with.

  OT prophesy also deals with current events, more than 2 millennia after the close of the OT (Amos 9:8-15) ?

  I take the Bible as a united body of evidence, with any changes from OT to the NT, being handled adequately  therein.
