What is the heaviest hard cast bullet that will cycle in a marlin SBL guide gun. And who makes a 2 or 4 gang mold for it.

Thank you

lee makes  two bullet mold 300 gn bullet mold. bullets have be adjusted back so action will cycle.you will need larger diameter bullet to work because off the micro groove barrel. mine shoots the m ok but jacketed better.

out of the over the counter comercial molds my favorite is the 405 rcbs, it runs in every 4570 ive tried it in. The 500 grain rcbs has the same nose so its just a matter of more bullet taking up powder capacity.  Ive got some  other heavy bullet molds but there all custom molds. the 405 has been a great game bullet and although i dont recall ever shooting anything with the 500 it should do just as well or a smidge better if your hunting trex sized game.

I use a 2 cavity LBT 355gr LFN bullet with mine. Accurate and never a feed problem. I just use a Lee factory crimp on all the loads.

Thank you for the replies,

I might give those a try. Oh the rifle is a newer GG and has button rifling not micro groove.

Microgroove shoots cast bullets just fine.

The Lee 405 works very well in my GG. I hardly ever use anything else.

405 grain works great in my guide gun but I have shot 500 grain bullets from mine too.

My favorite 45/70 molds are tge LEE blocks with the Ranch Dog bullets both 350 & 420. The 350 is my favorite perfect balance of weight and size. Both have large meplats for hunting and are designed for MG rifling.

Unfortunately they are mo longer made but do pop up for sale is ya watch.

Here is my selection of preferred 45/70 cast bullets.
