About this time last year I bought a used Remington 700 ADL in 22-250. 26" heavy barrel with camo stock. From what I researched, these camo stocked models were made for Dick's sporting goods and in 4 calibers: .223 / .22-250 / .243 / .308.
A little more internet searching showed how to adjust the trigger and some recommended torque settings for the stock. Bullet choice was the Sierra 55g GameKing HPBT, .020 off the lands. I used Sierra load data, H335 powder.
Now I only have a 50yd range, but with the starting load up to the maximum load in the data, the gun shot one ragged hole. Once again, this was only 50yds, but in my experience when they shoot that good at 50yds, they usually shoot just as good at 100yds.
To shorten the long story a bit, I have since acquired the other 3 calibers and they all shoot equally well. My only two negatives are that I cant reach the lands on the .308 due to mag length, and the plastic trigger guards are junk.
Prices are pretty crazy on all guns these days, with the 700's being no exception. Point being if you happen across one of these rifles at a price you can live with, i don't think you will be disappointed.
