The real cannon I once had.

It was brutal lol. And very accurate, we shot an old TV with it from about 100 yards. It destroyed that TV with one shot.

Top quality from Cannon limited.  7/8 scale is a big gun and some serious logistical issues-storage,  transport, crew.  But I bet a kick to shoot.

Did you live fire or just blanks?

I shoot a 1/6 scale-1inch bore Napoleon and it is a one man handful.

Live, I also had the limber with it. Had to move it around on an ATV trailer. Yup, it took at least two men to move it around. Stored it in a garage. I used to shoot it at the cowboy action shoots. Bore was 2 3/4.

A wealthy lady from Kansas bugged me for a year to sell it to her. She wanted it for her husband. Then I got injured, so I wasn't able use it much anymore, not like I once did. I called her and she hurried down here with her son pulling a race car trailer. She brought cash money, on the spot. So, that's the story of my cannon.
Fond memories though.

Argent, that cannon is a beauty. I'd would have had to get visitation rights so I could watch her make smoke every now and again.

I wish you were around back then, you could have helped me. But it was hard to do much anymore on crutches.
Wheelchair before that. I'm ok now, but a lot of my balance is gone. NO, ladders!!! I used to climb them like a spider monkey no problem. But a 60 foot fall is going to mess up something.

My other cannon is  Dom firecracker cannon. At least I think it came from Dom. I can't find a photo of it.

My 1/3 scale 1841. 1 inch bore. 23" barrel. Much more user friendly than Argents, but no where near the fun.

And one of my Coehorns. No round ball required I use dog food cans filled with cement. This one requires a small crew, me, a couple sons, and most of the grandkids.

Nope, not much. I like them sitting on a shelf in the bookcases in the living room. My little Dom firecracker cannon sits on a sporting clays rabbit target which is just a flat disk.

It is the only one that is actually made to fire and I've never even fired it. I'm really not into real cannons but do like small ones on the shelves.

Around here I'd have no where to fire a real one other than the firecracker cannon even if I had a real firing one.

Lots of old caliche rock pits around here, some of them are deep and very large. They make a good place to go for shooting just about anything. The one we use is about 200 yards long, and 100 yards wide. Or we can drive  into town and use the range just outside of town. Ive seen the smaller golfball size cannon out there shooting at times. I have always thought they looked interesting.
